For the 38th consecutive year, Chabad Lubavitch of CNY will be lighting up Syracuse with its "Let There Be Light" Chanukah campaign.
Chabad has public Chanukah Menorahs throughout Syracuse! There is a Menorah at Hancock International Airport, at Destiny, in Dewitt at the intersection of Erie Blvd. & E. Genesee St, in Fayetteville, and at the Galleries Downtown.
This year Chabad is encouraging an even greater participation in these Public Chanukah Menorah Lightings as an expression of unity and as response to the increase of Anti-Semitic acts, both domestic and worldwide. The message of Chanukah is "A Little Light Dispels a Lot of Darkness."
The large public Chanukah Menorah in Clinton Sq. Downtown Syracuse is the Flagship Menorah. Here is the menorah lighting schedule:
1st night of Chanukah - Sunday, December 22
Flagship Menorah Lighting at 5:00 pm
Mayor Ben Walsh will be joining Rabbi Rapoport at the Menorah lighting, going up for the lighting of the first candle!
Hot cider and Chanukah Gelt for all!
Monday, December 23
Flagship Menorah Lighting at 4:30 pm
County Executive Ryan McMahon will be joining Rabbi Rapoport, going up to help him light the Menorah.
There will be Hot Cider and Chanukah Treats for all!
Fayetteville Menorah Lighting on Highbridge Rd. 5:30 pm
Menorah Lighting with actual candles!
Mayor Mark Olson will be joining Rabbi Rapoport for the Lighting.
Tuesday, December 24 – Wednesday, December 25
Flagship Menorah Lighting at 4:30 pm
Community leaders, both civic and Jewish, will be joining the Menorah lighting on the other nights of Chanukah.
There will be Hot Cider and Chanukah Treats for all!
